Join Deb Karash on her first visit to the UK to teach this fun fabrication course. The course runs from Saturday 13th – Monday 15th April 2019. Places are limited so early booking is recommended. The class is suitable for all levels. Complete beginners to making metal jewellery are welcome.
Level: Suitable for complete beginners. No previous experience required.
Times: 10am – 5pm
Improve your skills in this fun three day course with Deb Karash. Add surface texture, volume, and layers to your jewelry designs resulting in added interest for your work. Particular emphasis is placed on planning and finishing techniques therefore resulting in a more professional look. Check out Deb Karash’s work to see the results of this in practice.
You will also learn easy soldering and riveting tips to improve your work. You’ll also learn how to incorporate found materials or beads and how to create a rich surface on copper and silver. You can choose to use commercial findings or learn how to make your own. Most importantly, you will leave with several finished pieces including a brooch. This class is perfect for preparing to take the Drawing on Metal class.
Please note, the cost of this class does not include materials. Students will need to bring the following materials with them:-
- 15cm x 15cm 0.7mm copper and brass sheet
- 15cm x 15cm 0.7mm Sterling silver sheet (optional)
- 0.7mm wire (optional) if you want to make ear wires
- Any small found materials that you might like to incorporate textured ribbon, paper, fabric to use for roller printing metal
